Old Town Alexandria is a very pet friendly part of Virginia. While dining al fresco your dog can people watch right along with you. On a recent visit we stopped in to the Barkley Square Bakery, coveniently located across the street from the Torpedo Factory (and across from a lovely park on the water!!!) To do some shopping and pickup some treats for Georgia, my Teacup Yorkie! The staff was very friendly and there were baked goods galore (none for me though!). They even have some HAPPY TAIL ALE -Beef flavored!!! 
Aside from the bakery they also have a small retail shop where you could find Juicy Couture beds, clothes and carriers!
What was on my list? Georgia and I walked away with a life vest ($15), Organic Mini dog treats ($2) and a bone shaped jewelry box for her hairbows ($7).
PS. That is not Georgia in the pic...just one I googled of the vest! haha!
